Ablongox the Particularly Unusually Long Lived

Forge-King of the dwarves during books 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 and most other canon works set within that time period. Also appears in books 1, 2, 3 and 13, though not as Forge-King.

In the first three books, Ablongox acts as an advisor to Uregor the Humble, and is named as the Forge-King toward the end of Book 3. Throughout the next 9 books in the series, Ablongox's appearances act as case-studies of the consequences of extreme longevity, especially in a position of power. In Book 13, he appears in one confusing sequence involving a conversation that seems to take place multiple times throughout the history of Battal, during which it is revealed that, around the year 39,975, he stepped down as Forge-King because it "Got really boring after a while." When last seen in the timeline (shortly before the Betrayal of Princess Crystalcrown), Ablongox is working as a Cheesesmith.

While his reign is illustrated as being somewhat uneventful, it should be noted that his long rule inspired at least one secret organization dedicated to uncovering the dark secrets of his rule.

His successor was Sakengaarg the Forge Master of Crystalcrown.
