Albrosian Alliance

An alliance of peoples formed by the union of Vaxin the Tiny and Rothgar the Recently-Paroled in 9485 to serve as a bastion of rogueish good intentions during the Spica Wars. They were mostly opposed to Yar the Sorcerial (as well as the Obsidian Culimancers) but were of course at war with all the major powers for the duration of the Spica Wars.

The alliance's power peaked with the death of its co-leaders at the hands of Yar the Sorcerial in 9519. In 9825 the alliance (and all others) disolved in The Smotening. After The Smotening a similar alliance formed with the same name that was permenently disbanded after the Peace Treaty of 10,429 rendered it obsolete.

Vaxin's Role in the Alliance

Vaxin's reputation as an adventurer of great skill and many other attractive qualities had won her great ammounts of renoun in the world. By 9481 she had formed an itinerant army which certainly would have been a very useful addition to the alliance. As well as her formidable command of manpower, Vaxin possesed several impressive weapons including:

While her marriage to Rothgar of the Hundred Titles is known to have formed the Albrosian Alliance, what Rothgar the Festival-Goer brought to the Alliance is largely a matter of speculation. This is because for some reason, despite the wealth of canonical writing surrounding Vaxin, of Rothgar, Cracked of Boot we have little save his titles.

Rothgar's Role in the Alliance

Thanks to one of his titles, we know that Rothgar, Wielder of The Peanuty Spikey Hammer had at one point weilded Ronard's Very Large Enchanted Spikey Hammer. Although he is said to have lost it, had he been able to retrive it (or remember where he left it) and considering Vaxin's own collection of weapons, it is easy to see how these co-leaders of the Alliance would be considered fearsome foes. And, based on Vaxin's known "wild streak" and Rothgar, Prince of Pinch's implied disrepute, their capacity to lead an Alliance with "rogueish good intentions" seems assured.

Even so, whether Rothgar the Pink Yesterday brought anything more than his weapon- if he had brought it-things like supplies, men, spica, or witch-elf companions for Vaxin--is unknown. It has been speculated that Rothgar, King for a Day, Defender of Irrational Dogmatism might have any number of warriors at his beck and call.

Whether or not Rothgar the Decent Guy had anything to offer beyond his weapon is unknown. We do know that Yar the Sorcerial had previously been exposed to the powers of Ronard's Very Large Enchanted Spikey Hammer during The Longest Moment, and we know from What the Quilp? that some of Vaxin's wizards thought this would render Yar vulnerable to the weapon's effects.

In the end, this is all moot speculation. Yar the Sorcerial was not in fact weak to the hammer and easily killed both Vaxin and Rothgar, Martyr of the Alliance once they finally caught up to him. It is for this reason that most writers of Fan Fiction who touch on the nature of the Alliance generally prefer to depict it as a semi-political alliance between two powerful warriors who were truly in love and enjoyed jointly leading their motley, rogueish band from one adventure to the next.

I'm editing this page so that it's a little less confusing when read alongside Vaxin the Tiny's page.
