The Wizbits, First Christmas Special

Summary

The Wizbits learn the true meaning of Christmas, but it turns out that Christmas doesn't really have that much of a meaning here. Too bad about that.

Lander and Zula try to get back to their respective homes to celebrate the season, but instead find themselves in a disturbingly clean village where everyone is shorter than 4'3", which pretty much limits it to footstools and small children. While some fans praise this episode for the lovely Christmas carol "Lochmarr's Petite Coin Purse", others object to the obvious cross-promotion in which Kung Foo Rooster shows up at the end of the special so that he can tell the Wizbits that the true meaning of the season is to "watch cartoons and buy toys!"

Moral

Kung Foo Rooster: Remember kids, with all this Christmas magic in the air, you might hear people talking about the true meaning of the season! They'll say all sorts of confusing things about morals and love, but the important thing is to watch cartoons and buy toys!

Notes

This is one of the Christmas episodes where the scenes from Wish Upon a Wizbit were butchered and redubbed. Examples:

• The times the Wizbits get "tickled by the Christmas tree" are butcheries of the too-numerous-to-mention tentacle rape scenes from the original episode. Why they put a tree in the background and didn't change the slurping sounds and screaming is disturbing.
• Lander's grandfather jabbing himself with a "Candy Cane", pulling out "Garland", and falling "asleep" on the ground is another obvious butchery of the botched seppuku scene of Lander's Grandfather. Also, the "garland" was not arranged to spell "MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE WIZBITS"-- If memory serves, I think the original had his innards arranged to spell some anti-American slogan in Japanese. Again, bells in the background, but screams and disgusting disembowling noises left in. Langomedes' creative license?
• In this episode, Mordechai comes onscreen for no apparent reason, shows his Star of David tattoo on his bare chest, and tells the audience about Hannukkah(sp?), WHILE AT A GRAVEYARD. The original had him robbing graves.

Unlike many of the holiday specials to follow, this episode did not contain its moral with the episode itself, rather than in a segment at the end. Although some people argue that the sequence with the moral should actually be considered part of the show itself, even though it's clearly pasted on at the last second with no regard for continuity or logic. After all, they argue, much of the episode itself was put together the same way.
