Anbu-Lance

The Anbu-Lance. A mythic lance, not unlike other generic lances in appearance, but far different in use. While other lances are used on horseback by knights and some soldiers for use in dismounting mounted enemies the Anbu-Lance is used in an aid giving role.

The Anbu-Lance is magically bound to a point far behind the front lines of battle and out of harms way. Usually a medical tent is errected on this spot and is sometimes referred to as the Emergency Tepee. The Anbu-Lance is then carried out into the field of battle by two soldiers who ride on one horse and are specially trained in the use of the Anbu-Lance. These specially trained soldiers are referred to by the title "Para-Mediques."

The Para-Mediques seek out their fellow soldiers who have been injured and are in need of medical attention, all the while letting out a high pitched, "wheee-oooo! wheee-oooo!" with their voices. When the Para-Mediques find a soldier who has been injured they each grasp the Anbu-Lance, raise it in the air above the injured soldier and quickly stab down at the soldier in question. If all goes as planned, the Anbu-Lance will let out a shriek and the injured soldier will be transported out of the battle and into the Emergency Tepee for the care he or she needs. If the technique described above is not carried out correctly the target soldier will simply be killed by the Anbu-Lance and put out of his or her misery.

Subversion of the Anbu-Lance

There are a few accounts of the Anbu-Lance being used in a way not intended by its creators. That is to say, as a tool of death. In these instances, which have not occured often in the history of the Anbu-Lance, the Anbu-Lance is bound to an unsafe location. These locations vary from pools of lava, bottomless pits, the ocean floor, basins full of poisonous snakes, anywhere that will bring a painful and, if it is posible, slow death to whomever is stabbed by the Anbu-Lance. Fortunately the lance has not been corrupted in this way often, for it is a powerful and deceitful weapon when used in this way.

CTS/Anbu-Lance Theory

There is a story in an expansion of the Cardboard Tube Samurai theory that the Carboard Tube Samurai was sent back to the Wang Era through the use of an altered Anbu-Lance which could transport those stabbed by it correctly not only to a different place but to a different time.

If anyone knows any stories of the Anbu-Lance feel free to link to them or write them here. -Furthermore

There are those who have a cult-like following of the exploits of the Anbu-Lance, and go whereever one might be used. They are known as the Anbu-Lance Chasers.
