Arkimedes

An important supporting character in Book 8, Arkimedes was once one of the Archmagi of Eldersbane, until he fell under the Curse of Eldersbane. Although transformed into a Juicebat, Arkimedes retained his sanity by creating a block-stacking logic puzzle game called Sirtet and played it for decades, managing to retain his facilities and speech. He befriends Asana Millytopthought in destroying the Orb of the First Evil, thus returning him to his true Eops form.

In the end, though, he missed his ability of flight so much that he spent the rest of his days playing Sirtet while trying to find someway to transform himself back into a Juicebat.
