Axe and Lyre

"Where the music comes with a beating."

Once a thriving city in the nation of Kelembad, Axe and Lyre began life as an inn. It was an exceedingly popular inn, to the point where, after three years of operation, the inn required a local government to keep things in order, and an extensive mining operation for the spices necessary to flavor the foods served in the dining room. Classified as either a town or inn depending on the inclination of the historian describing it.

It was a strategically-important location during the Vampyric Wars, as it had an extensive training program for Battlebards. To choke off the supply of battlebards, a large vampyre army descended upon the town, made a vampyre pyre of puppy meat of its assorted puppies, and went to the rhetorical town to destroy the literal town.

It was never rebuilt after the war, due to the presence of a decent inn a short ways down the road from Axe and Lyre's shattered ruins.

Axe and Lyre was the home of the tragic hero Mungo Ratswarm.
