The Back Door of Arkleaf
While the Front Door was towering, stalwart, inspiring and imposing, made from the finest materials and with the greatest skills that each of the three trade-craft factions could muster producing a wondrous edifice renowned throughout the surrounding lands, the Back Door was a small wooden section of the city wall that could be swung open to allow a modest caravan passage to and from the city.
It was mostly used by visiting nobles who wished to avoid the crowds gawking at the Gates or crowded around the Arkleaf Visitor's Center Kiosk, and by old Brynlyon because it was convenient and nobody argued. Famously used an escape route by the Cohoris towards the final decade of the Siege of Arkleaf, it was discovered that, ironically, it had been left open during the entire siege. Most suspected it was old Brynlyon's fault but the High Council had been dissolved by then so an investigation was never undertaken.
