Back to Ke Peirui the Conqueror of Harlots

Battle of the Falling Cherry-Blossoms

The epic battle between the armies of Ke Peirui and Fang Shu of the Long Wang Pass, the prime lieutenant of The Shadow Lord. During this battle Ke Peirui earned the title of "Conqueror of the Harlots", and won back his throne.

The battle took place in the City of Kimono, home of the Imperial Palace of the Wang Kingdom, in the year 3,342. Ke Peirui, who had been driven into exile when Fang Shu and his Harlots stormed the palace, returned leading an army of a thousand men. His disadvantage; he was vastly outnumbered by Fang Shu's army, which had been augmented by the Shadow Lord's bandits. His advantage; he was a master tactician.

For fourteen hours the army laid seige to the palace walls, wearing bright pink robes and armour. At the time Fang Shu was amused; it seemed a very ridiculous display. His opinion changed when Ke Peirui's army finally breached the gate; the Imperial Palace was home to Battal's largest collection of cherry trees, and at this time of year their blossoms fell so thick as to obscure vision. Under these conditions, Ke Peirui's pink-clad men were rendered nearly invisible. They moved among Fang Shu's Harlots, slaughtering them nearly unopposed. Ke Peirui himself met Fang Shu on the front steps of the palace, and slew him after only a brief fight. The Shadow Lord, sensing defeat, fled to fight another day.

At the end of the battle Ke Peirui was victorious, and the Harlots defeated. He ruled the Wang Kingdom for the rest of his life.
