Baudrillard Article
Written by noted French thinker and critical theorist Jean Baudrillard. Baudrillard's central claim is that The Elemenstor Cycle represents the final form of mythical simulacra; Brahe creates a complete mythology mappable to the world, and claims that as Brahe's world is re-invented in different forms of media, the underlying story becomes part of the very fabric of western culture. He claims that the great evidence of the "Elemenstation of the West" lies in the massive body of inspired works in a plethora of mediums. He concludes by saying that the themes of destruction and apocalypse in the Sundering and Unsundering have unconsciously contributed to a rise in eschatological viewpoints in western culture.

Discussion
| I'm pleased to announce that Pierre Flechee from the University of Montreal has completed an English-language translation for inclusion in the upcoming book on the Elemenstor cycle, to be published by Harvard University press. This will be the first time this seminal paper is available to the English-only audience, and those of us involved in the book are quite excited about its inclusion. -joam |
