Vast steeds of The War Men. Rickett's and Toby's Guide describe these creatures as "roughly 18 hoofands in length and capable of carrying four of their vile, axe-wielding riders. Their claws can crush cattle, rocks, or grapes with which they can manufacture fine war man Doomwine. They are bred for war and not food, as they taste really, really bitter."

During 'The Wizbits', the bitterscorpions were turned into cute, cuddly socrpions that were ordered about by the lovable Toasty.

Book 9 introduces us to Bittersweet Scorpions, but it was unclear as to whether or not they were only canonical as some sort of wild fever-dream until the release of Dinner with a Shelf.
