Botard the Great and Judicious and Such

Botard the Great and Judicious and Such was the third Magic Sword King, re-establishing rule in 1,019 (post-Vampyric Wars) and ruling until 1,021 TMSK. He was the grandson of Ronard the Shorter, his father Bonard I was never king.

Reign

Botard the Great and Judicious and Such was a remarkably perceptive ruler. He succeeded Ronard the Shorter, and immediately instituted the Gas-Ex-Machina Reform, to the great relief of olfactory glands everywhere. Dedicated to making his reign the most judicious and such it could possibly be, Botard set about radically altering the prevailing system of government, enacting sweeping changes which he hoped would alter the very fate of his era.

Death

Unfortunately, his plans, although undeniably judicious and such, were foiled by poor budgeting decisions. Botard attempted to collect funds by imposing a tax on Magical Swords. This was not very popular with the beard-trimming nobility, and he was swiftly executed after only a year-and-a-half on the throne.

Successors

Botard was succeeded by his second cousin, Frogeater Notapuppet.

Discussion

So this guy was a ronard king immediately after the vampyric wars during the wandering age? That seems a little funny... are these dates accurate?

Yeah.. There was a brief lapse of power right after the war. Then Botard was king of Mandleclang, but there were no twelve realms anymore, nor was much of Mandleclang united, although Middleclang and its surrounding lands were still under the reign of the line of ronard.

Anybody know the sources for this guy? There must be a pretty interesting story about how he put the kingship back together (even if his kingdom was greatly reduced)

If I remember rightly it was one of the storylines in the ElemenstorLance novel, "The Windfalls of Heredity". I borrowed it from a friend but wasn't able to finish it before he wanted it back... I kinda wonder how it ended now.
