Bothorians

The Bothorians are a short, furry race of slightly dog-like beings. They are bipedal and wear clothes fashioned of some of the finest materials on Battal. Bothorians are an aristocratic society, high stratified into various classes. The unique thing about these classes is that each considers their class to be superior to all the other Bothorian classes. The social structure of the Bothorians, then, varies depending on which Bothorian you ask.

The Bothorian economy is based primarily on mining. Bothorian mines extract large amounts of Rubian Crystals which the Bothorians sell in order to finance their lavish lifestyles.

The famous cyclical unidirectional shifted eight point social hierarchy diagram inside the back cover of Book 4 explains the relative positions and views of each of the Bothorian classes. Each class has two flanking "mildly lower standing" peer classes, and an opposing "untouchable" class (each class has one other class that they denote as untouchable).
