Bull-Chief Grorr

The Bull-Chief of the The Mist Hooves, Bull-Chief Grorr make an appearance around the middle of story of the Tales of Yorn, and again toward the end.

The Bull-Chief uses his mighty Herd Hammer, the Great MhOOO'rOK of the Hmuuu'mUUUr Herd, the Third Leg of High Bull-Chief Grorr the Hill-Strider, to smite several Blood Sniffers, foul vaguely dog-like war hounds popular among mercenary forces in the blood wars.

The snarling beast clicked forward on the worn and debris strewn stone floor. Yorn could hear the warm sticky blood drip from its ribs and hear its rasping breath draw in as it sniffed the air. This hiding place was no good, but he dare not run for it now. He held his breath and waited. Perhaps this was it. The end of the journey when really it had only just begun.

Much louder clacking was heard now. Thunderous. Something bigger was approaching. Perhaps even more horrible. Yorn clapped his hands over his ears. There was a sickening thump. Then three more, each wetter than the last. With each pound, reverberations shook Yorn to the core.

Then after a moment of silence, Yorn heard, "Scared man child can come forth."

Grorr helps the shaking Yorn find Trisha and Gweldorf. Grorr's first instict is to crush Gweldorf, since he is another dog-thing, but this is quickly sorted out. Soon Grorr has prepared some Root Tea for the crew and is regaling them with stories of the Seven Herds.

After spending a night close to Grorr and the protection offered by his herd, the groups must part ways, with Yorn heading deeper into the ruins, and further into danger.
