A species of manta-ray like creature that hunts by taking on the appearance of any article of clothing it wishes and then devours the unlucky victim who attempts to wear it. They spawn in second-hand stores and the back of forgotten wardrobes. They are capable of a limited form flight that looks more like a piece of silk clothing floating in mid-air than anything a bird or bat would use. May Capers are killed when someone choses not to wear one, but hem, cut, or otherwise tailor a piece of clothing they've found. Many people are quite surprised at the sudden squealing and bleeding that starts coming from that new outfit they stumbled upon.

According to the Elfin Fletcher's Guild, capes made from the beasts are said to be excessively light and flow-y while being warm and water resistant.
