Christmas

In The Wizbits Cartoon and similar semi-canonical tales of the Cycle, Christmas is a major winter holiday celebrated throughout The Shield (except by the token Judiastic-stand-in characters).

The cult of Joshua the Deliverer is particularly fond of this holiday, as it happens to coincide with Joshua's birthday. However, as cult membership is almost exclusively made up of individuals of the Cohoris species, they celebrate Christmas in very different ways, preferring somber songs about the conception and birth of their would-be deliverer, giving gifts to the poor instead of each other, and discussing how materialistic the holiday has become--which is especially peculiar since the holiday was materialistic long before Joshua came along.

Outside the cult, the practice of Christmas is quite similar to traditional Earthican style: there's an evergreen Christmas tree with a Angyel on top, tinsel, kissing under the mistletoe, and exchanges of gifts in brightly-wrapped paper. For the non-Cohoris of Battal, Christmas is mainly celebrated as an excuse for attractive women (especially elf-women of various types) to dress in tight red outfits with white trim and bells.
