Classtravel Series

Class Travel Series was originally envisioned as a comprehensive book series to address all of the common issues and questions with the class system. The back cover of the first book claims that all 250 classes allowed under the game would have their own book but in reality only the first 138 classes were ever published.

Many people were upset that many of the classes were carbon copies of other classes under the core rules and allowed for little in the way of customization even with the 15 page charactor sheets. By adding another twenty plus pages to the character sheets and adding many new rules these issues were addressed.

Each book includes new class abilities, new class merchant abilities, new class skills, new class armor counts, a unique ability set for every race/class combination, and more.

One of the major problems with the series was that they readily contradicted not only the core rules, but the themselves as well. Additionally, the new class abilities were often much, much more powerful than anything offered in the core rules. This is why it was widely reguarded as the munchkin series of books and were banned by most groups of players.

Even though they were banned, they still proved to be good sellers. Some think that obsessive compulsive nature of the CCGers (who had to own them all) is the only reason for their sales, while those owning the books will defend them saying that it's best to know all of the rules. The catchy naming scheme of the series also added to this.

I don't know whether I should create separate page for each book, or just link the titles to descriptions of classes, like Warrior - Jake
Let's just link to the class descriptions for now. If someone wants to write a book description, they can change it and link to the class description from that sub-page. Unless you want to make a stub page for each that just says something along the lines of Also See: Warrior - tim
I think I have a copy of "Gatekeeper's Gate," but it sez "Gatekeeper's Keepings" for some reason. Maybe I have a European version or a Japanese Bootleg? I got it off of e-bay -1c3m4n
Wasn't "Cleric's Coming" called "Clerical Healer's Sweet Time" in the US edition? -andras
I'm stubbing the pages in hope that someone fleshes them out later, though obviously the main RPG will come first. Luckily, most of the classes are just clones of the main ones with different skillsets, so it shouldn't be too difficult once the main RPG is fleshed out. Anyone who want to help in this endeavor is invited to jump in. ~ Charmy
