Crisis

 

A character from the ELotH comic book, Crisis was a human raised amongst the Quilp. A Life Elemenstor with intense surgical skill, he was invaluable for assisting his fellow six-legged porcupines throughout their daily lives. When he left for adventuring, he donned a suit of leather armor studded with Quilder, intended to mark him as an immensely rich person but also making him pretty damn safe during fistfights. He was also protected by the Quilp Helm of Sight Protect and a plain' ol' shield.

 

He was one of the co-founders of the Quilper's Memorial Healing Hospice in Quilpopolis.

I never understood- what is with the symbols on his helmet and shield? Was there a comic I missed?

It's the Quilp version of the first cross symbol thing. Its usefulness varies depending on how much blood is in one's eyes at the time.
