Dairy Bishop

A Dairy Bishop is one of the most powerful men in the entire dairy industry, answering only to the Dairy Pope. It is a Dairy Bishop's responsibility to assign dairy-routes, manage dairy supplies, and to meet out reward and punishment to his array of Dairymen.

While the Dairy Bishop was once all-powerful, in most of Battal their power was eventually challenged by an increase in the number of rogue dairymen, who operate without the express permission of the Dairy Bishop. These dairymen, whose numbers include the legendary Mort, find their lives constantly threatened by corrupt and vengeful Dairy Bishops. In Leng however, the power of the Dairy Bishop has never diminished.

A good Dairy Bishop is indispensible to the running of a Town; who knows what terror could arise if the Peasants did not have their milk?

A Dairy Bishop can usually be recognised by his official leather Cheese Welly. The Dairy Bishops of Leng (at least the sensible ones) can be recognised by the extra-thick Cheese Welly, full head-covering breathing helm and complete lack of any metal in exposed positions. Incompetent Dairy Bishops of Leng can be recognised by the fact that they are a melting pile of goo dissolving slowly in the feared stench of Blue Cheeses of Leng.

Dairy Bishops often claim that they are waiting for the "Dairy Messiah", who will take an earthly form on Battal to lead all to "Dairy Enlightenment". Some Bishops in the sect claim that she has already appeared.
