Duke Amalgum

If Lord Hopebane is the evil powerful seducer of the Tides of Epic Conflict Saga, then Duke Amalgum would be his good natured twin. Being a noble of Imperial Court in Teisti, he was well liked by both men and women for his persuasive tounge, and his stunning good looks. The Duke was also always well dressed and well armored due to his possession of the Adapting Armor of Awezomg. Typically he would wear this armor in the form of an expensive courtier’s outfit, but with the protection of a chain mail shirt.

In the Saga he is seen regularly engaging in duels of honor with people, helping the downtrodden, and picking up women. The most remarkable woman that he charms is the well-endowed Lopae of Hopea, who actually falls in love with the charismatic Duke. When Lord Hopebane decides to off the Duke he is well aware of Lopae being smitten with Duke Amalgum, so he gives Lopae a love potion (which of course is really poison) to give to the Duke saying that if she gave it to him he would be hers forever.

What follows is the most graphic love scene in the entire Saga which takes up three full chapters. Disturbing attention to detail is paid to this tryst during these chapters and in fact Lopae gives the Duke the potion claiming it was an aphrodisiac. Little does Lopae or the Duke know that this potion was a potion that mimicked the effects of Epic Flu. The next day the Duke received word that a town was under attack by a group of marauders. The Duke under the effects of the potion, bragged that he could take the group of bandits naked because he was just that awesome. Unfortunately the Duke’s bragging was for naught as the Duke was slain easily by the group of brigands.

It is hinted at later in the Saga that the Duke may in fact be the father of Lopae’s child, but as Lopae slept with over 30 men it is still unclear. However, since Lopae's progeny does seem to share the same raven black hair as the Duke one can only wonder.
