Dying Death of the Star-Crossed Lovers Who Finally Found Happiness Only To Have It Taken Away By a Short-Minded Individual, But Whose Tragic Tale Will Live On Forever
While the title would suggest otherwise, really just a thin plot used to excuse what is essentially 30 verses of explicit pornography and a bridge that features the lovers being slaughtered by a jealous prude.
A note on the "Forever" portion of the title: The song has an optional outro that follows the bridge. Here is is, after the final two lines of the bridge:
With their small intestines splayed in two
And the remains used as do-og food!
Still... We shan't forget in great detail
the story of the love that began this tale-
At first he threw off her blouse...
At this point the song is sung again and this generally continues until the singer is beaten down by someone offended by the content or passes out due to exhaustion/too much ale. Needless to say, the song isn't terribly popular in mixed company.

I always thought that this was a song about vaxin and rothgar

People make that assumption, but it's simply not true. Now, Rothgar might have implied that it was about him and Vaxin [The Singer of Songs After Drinking Ale|when he sang it] which certainly would explain a few things, but the original song is dated early in [The Magic Sword Kings Period|the Magic Sword Kings Period]. The fact that it survived to the [Spica Wars] is indeed impressive, although I guess certain things never go out of style, eh?

Well, that certainly didn't work. All that linking for nothing.
