Elowel of the Tuba

Marching in the darkness, unaware of day or night, or the passing of time, The Darkmarch Elven played their instruments, hoping that the resundering of the lands would come about thanks to their music making.

By the time of the Unlight War, they'd played for eons. Since time out of mind, they have marched and made merry music. Even after the disagreeable ones caused all that ruckus and then went off on their own; even after all the perils of The Underdeep, the hardship, disease, unspeakable monster attacks. The darkmarch played on.

Their second leader, Elowel of the Tuba was a strong and wise ruler. The ranks of the Darkmarch grew and prospered under his rhythmic and inspired baton. Over five million strong, and deeper than any Elves had ever passed into the Underdeep, it was in the year 26,980 when Elowel began to notice something was amiss. Dark things not usually found so deep underground were attacking the advanced scouting bands. Often only their instruments were found. Whispered rumors of attackers who mentioned the other Elves ran like dark unchecked fires through the midst of his people.

Leaving his most trusted son Parnabuse of the Cymbal in charge, he took three generals with him on a quest to Great Gandandersanden, an area that his people always avoided. He sought news, and discovered that the Elves of Shik'leSeal'd were uniting. Traveling to the surface with Gologas Izzabulli, he joined The Reunified Elfish Council of Elven Factions, taking his place among his long lost brothers.

The first meeting was perhaps a little awkward. H'wel Hazeweed-In-My-Pockets was certain that all of the Darkmarch had been wiped out long ago (a mistaken impression the Mean Elves made no effort to correct) and Elowel was quite surprised to discover that The Unsundering had already happened countless ages ago, another thing the Mean Elves had kept to themselves when in the presense of those who may have thought differently.

Note: Because of the brightly colored band uniforms that most Darkmarch Elven wear, the Darkmarch were not blinded by the sunlight when they came to the surface.
