Fairy Godfather (Card)
The Fairy Godfather, a throwaway character from season one of The Wizbits provided a brief laugh in episode 2. It wasn't until the release of the first CCG expansion, Quest: The Chasm, that he became a household word. The sole purpose of this Super-DoubleCommon card is to increase the power of the Gangster Octopus (Card) to a point that assures victory.
This card was so common that many WEBCCG players would take to decorating with them. The most famous of which was Jeremy Botnik, who won the 13th World's Championship wearing only a set of Pajamas made from Fairy Godfathers and a band of gold foiled Etched Moccasins from the Seven Staves set.

| The bonus given by target effect becomes negative. For example, if a Special Global Test were made at +3, it would instead be made -3. This only affects the bonuses given by cards you control. |
Every creature opponent is considered to have blocked this game, and every creature you control is considered to have never blocked. This does not end at end of turn. |
A pesky Fairy Godfather doesn't do anything right.

Technically, making the effect of a Special Check Break Global Check negative instead of positive would make it enormously easier to pass (you need to roll higher than a negative number? well, gee golly, I dunno about that!). The flip ability is dastardly, though.

Actually, I believe that it applies only to check BONUSES, so the text of the check itself would never be altered... Now, if you had something that made someones Special Check Break Global Check effect higher, and then used Fairy Godfather on it, and then redirected it at yourself, THAT woudl do it, as long as you were raising the effect by more then its base.

Correction to my previous comment-- My assumption is that the Gangster Octopus/Fairy Gofather combo involved forcing the opponent to procure a negative-sided die, thus ripping apart time and space... Or possibly not. I was always more of an RPG person in ELotH:TES terms then a CCG person, so I may be quite wrong.
