Forbidden Velvets

A cloth of such softness the very hint of it brushing against the skin of an errant arm has driven men insane. To caress the roll of fabric is to simultaniously know pure, unadulterated joy and everlasting, abject terror. Besides that no one is quite sure why it's forbidden.

There is a story whispered amoung some very select groups about one such caresser who came out of the everlasting terror "changed".
