Friarie

Friaries are a strange and mystical race. It is said that they have a certain fondness for hats, but this is perhaps to cover their bald heads.

The origin of the species of Friaries is shrouded in great mystery, but it is believed that it was the result of an intoxicated young friar, on the dare of a variety of his equally intoxicated friar friends, being seduced by a fairie. Ordinarily when this sort of thing happens, the fairie dies in the act of giving birth, but in this particular case a particuarly kindly witch came upon the fairie and healed her with a special lifegiving ointment known as 'lifegiving ointment #4'.

Lifegiving ointment #4, however, also has the property of increasing the chances of conception by several thousand times, and in this case it permitted the otherwise incompatible Friar sperm to infect with a little friarie baby.
