Frogeater Notapuppet
Frogeater Notapuppet, as a result of his rule, earned himself the nickname "The Ruler of Suspicion."
One of the Magic Sword Kings and second cousin to Botard the Great and Judicious and Such and grandson of King Ronard himself. His father Ronard the So-Very-Short did very little of distinction.
He earned his unfortunate epithet and surname while striving to dismiss rumors that he was merely a figurehead and that true power lay in the person of Grimbold Backbiter, the Vice Chancellor of the Census and Sundry Other Administrative Affairs. To free his subjects of their suspicion and to prove that he was actually the master of his own domain, King Frogeater demanded one day in court that his scullions "go hence and collect ye alle the toades, frogges, and various othere poisonous lyzardes of the realm" and make of them into a stew, for surely no one would eat such a deadly concoction unless he really wanted to, freely and of his own volition. "For soothe," King Frogeater claimed, "I woulde not be so wood as to partake of suche deadley meats on the command of any of my chancellors."
The brash order was fulfilled, and King Frogeater was shortly thereafter dead of poison. Ironically, this final and tragic command by King Frogeater marked the first original idea that he had ever had, which suggests that perhaps it wasn't such a bad thing after all to have had the Vice Chancellor of the Census and Sundry Other Administrative Affairs secretly running the show.
Needless to say, faith in the royal line was not restored when the crown passed from King Frogeater to his son, Ginnerfar Notallthere. His youngest son Spheven Birdcrazy would eventually continue the royal family line through Bartholomeu Chairglued when Notallthere died without producing an heir.
