Not to immediately ruin the staying in character, but how on Earth can we debate the maturity level of an article as compared to the rest of it and still stay in character? I mean, if it's canon, it doesn't matter how mature it is. -patkelly |
Point taken, moved it to here. My issue is that Gayzor's pretty blatant, and also pretty offensive... if it were funny or explained in some witty way, I'd let it slip, but like the Roig schtick, it just doesn't fly well. ~Jake |
I don't think it's very offensive ... I mean, it's pretty subtle. I can't see how you can compare it to Roig. The only iffy part is the name, and that's not too bad. Maybe it just needs some fleshing out. ~Lucres |
I dunno, I can't imagine someone missing the name.. could probably just change that to some less blatant phonetic pun. ~jake |
Well, it's hardly subtle, but I don't really find it offensive. And perhaps more importantly, I present the following argument. One: This Wiki is a Penny-Arcade-affiliated entity. This wiki must stay within the bounds of Penny Arcade. This said, I present my argument. For God's sakes, this thing is a PA-reference joke. And an ironic joke at that, I believe. At least I assume it was, as that was the context in which it appeared in PA. Now, if someone were to add all sorts of homophobic, Roig-ish bullshit, then yes, yes I would say burn it to the ground and bury its ashes upside down under a crossroads. Four crossroads, rather. At the four corners of the very Earth. But as it stands, I do not believe it is a transgression, and so I, at least, will stay my hand. Now, though, you were offended, and that is a problem. I agree with Lucres in that fleshing the article out--so it transcends the nature of "Ironic Gay Joke" and takes on an actual life--would immensely improve the thing. ~patkelly |
Hey, Jake, since you took down the link to this disputation, I'm moving the page to the Archived Disputed Pages. If by that you didn't actually mean the discussion was over, then by all means switch it back. I also added in your suggestions to the actual article itself, with a bit more thrown in for the heck of it. I hope it's more to your satisfaction now. ~patkelly |
Done and beautifully. Thanks guys, I'll post it on the help wanted for fleshing. ~Jake |
