The Ginormous Soul's Ginormous Lack of Wanting To

The Ginormous Soul is one of the most controversial elements of the Elemenstor Saga, and has historically caused a great deal of argument on the newsgroup (including the Great Ginormous Soul Flamewar of '97). The issue is simple: if the Ginormous Soul truly exists, and controls all unconscious actions, why didn't it do x? (x in this case may be anything from preventing the death of the beloved Calg Hokhok in Book 9 to causing the Cataclysmic Bluont to be included in The Unsundering.)

The argument put forth by those who believe in it is that the Ginormous Soul possesses a characteristic equally Ginormous Lack of Wanting To. (Where "Lack of Wanting To" may be interpreted as "lack of wanting to x.) This explanation is considered by many to be canon, although Mr. Brahe himself has never referred to it; it also surfaces periodically in fanfiction.
