Gnome

Gnomes stand about as half as high as a human. They can live up to 400 years. Most adult gnomes wear traditional pointed hats when in public. Gnome hair is typically bright pink.

The gnomes are defined by the separation of gender roles. Male gnomes are warriors and farmers and have an incredibly tough work ethic and toil away in fields and training to become better protectors and law enforcement agents. Gnome females are usually much more intelligent, but lazier. A female gnome has twice the intelligence of a male gnome but one third the initiative. They spend a great deal of their time just lying around, and a small portion managing the males and tinkering with new inventions to help save on labor. With their noses to the grindstones or their heads in the clouds, gnomes never made much of a historical mark on Battal, save for a few notable individuals.

All gnome families live in Gnometrees, a species of tree bred by the females over several thousand years that naturally grows into the shape of a well-made house. Gnometrees generally run in families and are passed down generation to generation.
