Harbingers

Harbingers are a fairly elite group of philosophers and researchers whose organization is considered by many to be the precursor to the Order of Elemenstors. When Harbinger Portent discovered High Elemenstation, the Harbingers were already at the ends of their ropes, with many Harbingers leaving the central temples to become wandering ascetics--including Portent himself. The discovery of High Elemenstation lead many of the higher-ups among the Harbingers to try to allow the Harbingers themselves to regulate all matters of Elemenstation. While they failed to attain this designation, the Harbingers would essentially become the largest part of the organization of the Elemenstors when they were assimilated by the Order of Elemenstors. By the time of The Elemenstor Cycle, the Harbingers are all but unknown, save for a few mentions of specific Harbingers, like Harbinger Portent and the tale of the Dark Harbingers, Gambol and Brathymide.
