Hellcrow

Bogyn's Nastiness Rating: 59 (Horrifically Nasty)

A three-legged, three-eyed species of crow that lives near cemetaries in the Wang Kingdom. They are capable of speech, although all they can really say is variations of insults. Oddly enough, they are invigorated by sunlight, and can sap the sunlight in an area to leave an area shadowy and dark.

They can hollow out corpses and live inside them, operating the dead into a Zombie-like puppet. The Cardboard Tube Samurai ran into hoardes of Hellcrow-controlled corpse bandits several times in his adventures.

Some members of the Wang Kingdom consider them to be more powerful than Dragons and Phoenixes, but this is patently false. They are an emblem of Ninjaball, a national sport of the Wang Kingdom.

Hellcrows are widely considered the weak and twisted descendants of ancient and mighty Deep Crows that made their way to the surface of Battal; however, the famous Bogyn once hypothesized that Hellcrows are in fact larval manifestations of Deep Crows, who must dwell three-hundred yearicles on the surface before reaching their next stage of growth. As no one has witnessed the full life cycle of either creature, Bogyn's hypothesis remains unconfirmed.
