Hooey

A red mud found in the lower provincess of The Shield, it is nearly identical to red clay, but it smells awful and all pottery made with it has curious magical properties. Anyone who drinks from a container made of Hooey is rendered completely incapable of telling the truth for a number of days. As such it is used primarily by agents of the Deathrider Ninja Clan. They keep tiny drinking vessels made of the substance on their persons at all times, to drink in case of capture. Afterwards, they cannot be interrogated for secrets about their order.

All manner of deception is blamed on hooey, though few true hooey items exist.
