Intelligent Elementalism

A controversial thesis that comprises the life's work of Tickle, renowned Zonardian Elemenstor and naturalist. Also known as "Quantum Emergent Elementalism" amongst some circles.

Tickle suggested that while the original Primary and Secondary Elements had always existed, as did the Ur and Ur-Ur Elements, all the other Elements only came into existence after sentient beings recognized their concepts. For instance, while peanuts existed prior to the rise of Men, the Peanut Element per se did not actually come into existence until intelligent beings encountered and conceptualized the concept of "Peanut" - after which the Element and Elemanifestations of "Peanut" would suddenly come into existance.

This was controversial on several levels. First of all, because many Elemenstors thought it gave mankind the power that should only be reserved for the Hierarchs (not really recognizing that mankind ARE the Hierarchs) and that the theory, if correct, meant that there was a potentially infinite number of Elements.

Proponents argue that it really conveniently explains why there are Elemental forces for Hats, Asswhumping, and Art, though.
