Back to Legends of Battal
Jeremuth and the Three Dragons
A moving tale about Jeremuth's quest to stop the rampage of three dragons who were let loose during The Second Battle of Blee. During his quest Jeremuth saves several damsels in distress all of which plead with him to become his bride but he refuses stating that he has one true love that he has yet to find. After vanquishing the last dragon he finds the Anguished Scimitar of Wrist-Cutting lodged with in the dragon's belly. At the end of the tale Jeremuth walks off into the sunset, after refusing the last damsel, with a single tear rolling down his face.
This tale is a favorite with the Women Folk of Battal who find Jeremuth's quest for true love and angst at never finding it moving. Particularly it is a favorite legend for the unmarried among the Ice Princesses of Northarbor who learned of the tale from the father of Ingrid Hoffmeister, Lars, who had been a captain of a ship that sailed from the port of Karlstone and was shipwrecked on Northarbor. Parts of this legend are illustrated in the graphic novel series The Hierarchs of Northarbor. This legend plays a sharp counterpoint to its companion legend, Jeremuth and the Threat of Invisigoths.
