Ken Nordris

"I don't consider my fans my primary audience." - Ken Nordris

Author of Megawangokyo series, and a soggy whimpering jelly muffin. He is not even Wangese, is reported to be a closet transvestite and a wife-beater. In short, he is much like Tycho Brahe. The ponce.

Megawangokyo was Nordris' first successful webcomic, following the less popular Battle High School Spirits, another manga-ish effort about a high school which holds a fighting tournament for its students. BHSS met a cold response, as the project was frequently admitted by the characters within the comic to be nothing but an excuse to draw anime-style characters in cool poses, and a master of comic self-reflexivity Ken Nordris is not.

Megawangokyo launched in June of 2000 and Nordris seems to have learned from his mistakes, making sure to add plot, character development, and borders around the speech bubbles this time around. In addition, Nordris decided to ride the popularity of The Elemenstor Cycle by making the series an ELotH:TES fancomic, if rather loosely, which tracked the adventures of Hidro Kobayashi and Ooesuke Minigawa. Series co-creator Rick Casten once commented that Nordris was never really a fan of the ELotH:TES world as a whole and only used that backdrop as a way to draw an audience, but Nordris later denied this and Casten never repeated the comment, even after his death.
