Khalm

Also refered to as "Protobattal" by historians, Khalm was a utopian world forged by the Hierarchs after the Darkstorm destroyed The Four Vales. Khalm was the opposite of Battal in every way - it was peaceful, clean, and historical events all made sense.

Indeed, there was no reason the planet shouldn't have remained going on for eons. However, it only barely made it to 25 years.

The reason being that the Hierarchs had decided to bestow nigh-infinite Elemental powers upon the population. Everything from dogs to cats (or rather, their tentacled, six-legged Khalmese equivalents) had incredible powers to reshape reality.

25 years after the world was created, the population invented the insult. The resulting 30 minute long Elemental war completely obliterated the planet into dust.

The Hierarchs sighed, packed away the wandering ghosts from the explosion into the Starborn Gem, rolled up their sleeves, and figured that third time's the charm . . .

No one knows much about Khalm, except for the remenants of its original inhabitants, the Starchildren and the Elemanifestations. They agree on two points, it was very peaceful, and everything living on it was very ugly.

The revelations of Khalm was one of the primary plot points of The Grand Elemenstor of Magic, which was partially written to further explain the mechanics and origins of Elemenstation and the Starborn Gem.
