Item Law #101
Law of Similar Sounding Names
- If two items of the same class have remarkably similar sounding names, they must bear an equivalent physical resemblance to each other.
- This resemblance need not extend to function or use.
- If items are not of the same class, physical resemblance is recommended but not required.
- If an item has a remarkably similar sounding name to an object that is not an item, it must bear an equivalent physical resemblance if it has a similar use or function as the non-item.
Interpretation
So, for example, the Ring of Immortality must be very similar in color, material, and design to the Ring of Immorality. Likewise if a sword called the Kordish Gutter is used to eviscerate your opponents it may look however the creator wishes, but if it kills by raising a victim's cholesterol count to lethal levels or is capable of making toast tasty, then it should be shaped like a giant stick of Kordish Butter.
