Legends of Infinite Madness and Insanity

 

The story

 

A planned expansion to the CCG that was based on The Unspeakable, containing every previous Unspeakable card and 56 newly designed cards. The creation of this new expansion was supposedly to renew popularity for Unspeakable decks, but internal memos mention a bulk crate of all-black cards that were gathering dust in a warehouse. Scheduled to come out in October 2005 but was cancelled after a junior executive burned down the warehouse containing the original shipment of cards. There are unsubstantiated rumors about what evils he saw in those cards that would be horrible enough to drive him to destroy them.

 

Theories

 

The most popular theory states that the cards would unleash an unspeakable evil upon the world and that the alleged arsonist wanted to keep the cards from unleashing (un)said evil. Opponents of this theory state that its flaws stem from the numerous annoying puns in the theory and that it was merely created as a joke. Those people aren’t well liked.

 

Another popular explanation for his madness is that he stole some of the cards beforehand so that he would be the only one in control of the powers of the cards. Another version of this theory states that he was sent to retrieve them for one of the incapacitated prominent figures behind the franchise. Some say they were for Holhik and/or Krakins to use in order to take back Elemenstors of the Peninsula from Multigame Corp, others say that they were for Langomedes to wield upon his revival.

 

One less popular theory about the cards is that he never even saw them and his actions were the result of a decision by a group of executives that the whole idea of selling massive quantities of all black cards was doomed from the start and that they would be better off if the cards never existed in the first place.
