Meteoric Iron

Meteoric Iron is, as the name would suggest, iron which has been smelted from a fallen nickel-iron meteorite. Meteoric iron is far more common on Battal than our own world, as evidenced by the fact that practically every single iron weapon and item appears to have been forged from it. However, there is no evidence in canon to suggest that iron, as we know the term, exists naturally in any quantity in Battal. Mountain deposits of the weaker metal Iyorn are the nearest thing to what we would consider ordinary iron mining practices mentioned in text. It is therefore not outside the realm of plausibility to conclude that meteoric iron is the only source of high-quality iron in Battal.
