Mordechai

The teacher of Lander and mortician extraordinare, Mordechai is the only blatantly Jewish character in any part of ELOTH:TES, which is possibly because Judaism is not actually a part of the Elemenstor Saga. Nonetheless, in the Japanese version of The Wizbits, ElamenSTAR, he spoke with a stereotypical Jewish accent as interpreted by someone with a Japanese accent.

Mordechai, as a Death Sorcerer and Apothecarist, was relatively unprepared for when his student ended up having the Knack for Earth Elemenstation. Nevertheless, he was an excellent teacher, who supplemented Landar's own studies with his practical experience in exploring magic.

Some might disagree with Mordechai as a great teacher, however, seeing as how he was an unabashed and even proud grave-robber, who operated under the assumption that after someone got buried, they were done with their fancy grave goods, and thus were open for the taking. Mordechai was brazen enough to thieve from his own sponsored burials when the attendees turned their backs. That he did so while usually getting away with it is testament to his fantastic skills at grave robbery.

It was probably Lander's early experiences with this rather grim figure that put him at ease when he was sent to boarding school in The Kingdom of Parsonya, which is generally considered rather creepy by most.

He also had tentacles of mysterious origin, as promoted in the classic hard rock album Tentacles of Mysterious Origin.
