Nose Blindness

Take a person into a room. Ask them to tell you what they see. Keep pushing. Have them list everything that they can see. You can go on for quite a while before that person will mention their own nose, even though there isn't a place where they can look without seeing it.

This is often the explaination for why things related to ELotH:TES go unmentioned on the wiki, even though once they are entered, everyone has copious amounts of information to add that they knew all along. If these things are so major, why weren't they added to the wiki on the first day? Some things are so much a part of your every day experience, that it's all but invisible to you unless it is brought directly to your attention.

Totally, man. I mean, some things you just don't think to mention, they're so obvious. Seriously, I'm far more proud of the fact that I know that Hondana contains 17 books (all diaries writted by Lady Arisa) and thus more likely to fill that in than I am of the fact that I know that I get the ELotH:TES Magazine, and thus more likely to fill in the former. -patkelly

I think it is quite important to remember that given the Epic nature of the saga that people may forget details (or entire sections of plot, storyline, characterization or merchandise.) It's just so Epic that it's difficult to keep up.

Unless of course you subscribe to the ELotH:TES Magazine. This adds to the problems by releasing new information in each issue, which is probably the reason why nobody knows anything about the topic the day each issue yet everyone knows everything about it the next day when they receive their issue. Plus of course their catch up subscriptions are proving more popular than anyone could have imagined.
