Nurbilak
Bogyn's Nastiness Rating: -17 (Harmless)
Nurbilak is often known as "spice weasel," as it 1) strongly resembles a weasel, being a long and furry annelid, and 2) its fur is, in fact, an array of amazing spices; there are nearly 87 different known variations of Nurbilak spice, each suitable to different types of food and preparation.
Because nurbilak meat is gamy and--ironic, considering its delicious fur--tasteless, they are not slaughtered for their pelts, but instead sheared and left to grow back their delicious fuzz.
Primarily the distilled spices of the Nurbilak are used in the uniquely strong foods of the Dwarves.
Outside of Dwarven kin, only the greatest Warrior Chefs of Battal are fit to handle the best of the spices; they usually consign conquered Dyemons or expert Apothecarists to the task of separating and preparing each variety of spice from a shaved nurbilak.
"Shave the Spice Weasel" contests are popular at upper-class festivals. Women Folk who can shear a spice weasel are said to be fine marriage material.
