Oleyoda

"Is it timesorc'ley... or something more?" -- Mortal Wombat in Womb of the Wombat

First Incarnation

Something more indeed. Oleyoda first lived in the year -39,030, although he was born much later. A Timenes Elemenstor (a Chronomenstor) with an interest in wombats, he travelled back to the period where Wombamancy was at its height, long before the discovery of Elemenstation, or even the arrival of Man in Battal.

His experiences are not well recorded, but it is known that he founded the craft of New Wombamancy while still quite young; his mission was to bring redemption to the wombat and seperate them from Wombamancy, which he viewed (rightly) as entirely evil.

Through the study and practice of "Mike" (as he code named his project) he gradually built a following of tamed wombat allies, curbed of their nigh insatiable appetite for babies.

Despite Oleyoda's limited good works with the wombats they were still perceived as a great threat by Gespechio, who in -39,000 TH killed every living wombat save one.

This did little to stem the tide of the wombat threat in the short term because all that it did was increase the available wombat corpses to produce zombie wombats. This meant that any wombat seen roaming through the hills, countrysides, and local taverns were creeping undead horrors. All save the single remaining Mortal Wombat that Oleyoda took forward in time to just past the slaughter.

From this time forward Oleyoda worked tirelessly with "Mike" in order to rebuild the glory of the wombat age. As an old man, he found a way to combine Original Wombamancy with his own New Wombamancy to create an embryo within the Mortal Wombat. He gave his own life to begin this spell, but warned that the unborn fetus would remain in a state of suspended animation until he could return to complete the Elemenstation.

The few remaining physical descriptions from this ancient period merely describe Oleyoda as "having a very feminine face." It is commonly believed that the wombats who Oleyoda had befriended actually assumed Oleyoda to be female, but perhaps that can be forgiven since at this point in the history of Battal mankind did not yet even have genders.

None the less the Mortal Wombat was easily able to recognize Oleyoda in his...

Second Incarnation

Born as a girl in 19,102 and named Oleyoda by confused parents befuddlingly unable to choose another name, Oleyoda lived a wombat free childhood, was spotted by a Knack Spotting Child at the age of 14 and sent to the Cerulean Citadel for instruction in Elemenstation. A promising student, she often spent time in the kitchens helping the Ecreek cook.

One day Chef Ecreek spins an ancient tale of wombat horrors and Oleyoda, touched by some long forgotten memory, is intrigued. Rather than hearing the frightening tale being told by the Chef she instead feels a strange kinship with these creatures, who surely could not be purely evil.

Elsewhere, the Mortal Wombat feels a stirring within her belly. A twinge that she cannot describe, but one that spurs her into action and draws her to a destiny that she cannot forsee.

Drawn to the Cerulean Citadel and flanked by an army of zombie wombats the Mortal Wombat makes her way down to the steaming kitchens of the Citadel, having easily breached the walls.

Here she finds an Ecreek and the two do battle. It is then that Oleyoda literally falls back into her destined place in history.

The wombat immediately recognizes Oleyoda's features. Something within Oleyoda remembers this wombat and compels her to offer to help this wombat.

The final scene of Womb of the Wombat shows the Grand Elemenstors presenting the Necrowombicon to Oleyoda on the steps of the Cerulean Citadel. The Mortal Wombat departs with her new companion.
