Princess Crystalcrown

b. approx 39,980

Princess Crystalcrown was a pretty good princess, in general. I mean, nobody really complained about her princessing. This didn't stop the Dark Master from convincing the Elanfariestel the Easily Convinced to undertake a long and drawn-out betrayal that ended when Elanfariestel gently nudged Princess Crystalcrown off a cliff on Mount Wor. This act had many epic repercussions throughout the land, but most of them involved cabbage, so it didn't really get mentioned much outside of cabbage-farming circles.

Her father died just before she was born, and she was therefore crowned at birth. Her name is the result of the fine tradition of naming the child by the first thing that touches their head. Though not the eldest child, she ruled in the stead of her brother, Floor the Stupid.

Princess Crystalcrown might have traced her lineage back to King Ronard if she so chose; however, she opted not to emphasize this fact, as anyone with an IQ higher than that of your average watermelon would realize that this is not anything to brag about (incidentally, many descendants of King Ronard did not have IQ's greater than that of a watermelon).

Princess Crystalcrown was also known as the Frabrige Princess, Crystalcrown Lightbearer, and even The Crystal Mother by the Crystal Order, a cult dedicated to advancing the ideals she stood for during life (even though it was not clear what those ideals were.)

Elanfariestel looked into Crystalcrown's trusting eyes. He began to question himself. "Was this the right thing to do? Was this what the princess wanted, deep down, just as the shadow figure had suggested?"

Her back to the edge of the cliff, standing so very close to the drop, she stood and waited, as the wind kicked up and she drew her shaw closer around her, and shifted slightly from foot to foot.

"Princess Crystalcrown, I..." he said suddenly, reaching out for her. As his hand brushed against her shoulder a sudden gust pushed down on them.

Elanfariestel stepped back from the edge. Where the princess had been standing a moment ago was now just an unobstructed view of the crimson sunset. Another gust of wind howled around him as he turned his collar to the storm, and as the first drops of rain began to fall, he turned and began the long trek back down the mountain.
