Proposal 2
all non-canon names are placeholders.
See Great Unhappening. Spaghetti Westerns.
Plot
One day a young and incompetant Elemenstor named (Bobert) cast a spell to locate his shoes. However his shoes had been wiped from time itself as the timeline was being unraveled. Due to a combination of his poorly crafted spell, Timenes's unravelling, and chance young (Bobert) was flung back in time. While investegatting the cause of his time travel he discovers that large scale alterations in the timeline have created paradoxs and that time is unravelling.
He sets out on a journey, joined by new friends (both canon and not) across time (Sorta like Chronotrigger) trying to discover the causes of the inference and set the timeline right. Eventually they come to a direct confrontation with (baddie) the ultimate source of the interference. They succeed and in setting the timeline right and all the heros go back to exactly where they were before it all hapened. In fact everything is exactly the same except for one thing: (baddie) and (Bobert)'s shoes no longer exist.
Advantages
This will allows to include as much or as little cannon as we want, being as that all events that happen durring this adventure will un-happen when the adventure is complete. It will also let us cover as much ground as we want because we're not limited to any one time or place and can include any people, events or places.
Disadvantages
I know this seems like alot, and it probably will be. However it doesn't nessairily mean that the game world has to be huge, just that it will be divided into segments
as opposed to a larger world in a single time period. This plot does actually need another plot, to tell about what happens to (Bobert) across time and in what ways (Baddie) was alterning things, but we have an overarching concept and the second plot is already partially defined and can itself be more flexible as it can be just a series of events that exist within the greater plot.
Discussion
| I like this one. I'd gladly sign on to write for this one; it lets us explore the ELotH universe fully. And it'd be easier to expand; a new quest could be shoehorned in incredibly easily after 'completion.' -patkelly |
| Sounds perfect for episodic gaming. Each chapter may (or may not) move closer to discovering the identity of (Baddie). There's no need for a final battle until market share drops off. -Aggrav8d |
