Prowish

A famous, yet absentminded swindler whose story takes place in the novel Tales of the Forever Road. One day, while in the middle of an unusually successful water salesman scam (whose success was, unbeknownst to him, was due to a hat he’d rented from Zik for the part), he received a magic piece of parchment that caused him to write a confession of every crime he’d committed. Upon discovering the letter the next morning, he panicked and stuffed it in his hat, where he almost immediately forgot about it. The following week, a client of his, Tim of Tam, was having a birthday party and wanted a shipment of Prowish’s Fine Water. Prowish busy was scooping water from the stream* that ran through the town while trying to think of a good present for Tim. Without thinking, he wrapped up the hat in the hatbox Zik had rented it out in and presented it at the party. Fortunately for him, he left before Tim opened the present and found out that the hat was a rental. It wasn't long before Prowish recalled that the confession was still in the hat. He immediately raced off to find the hat, and thus did his adventure start.
