Raging Recliners

Once furniture became aware that men would not serve them, they began to evolve in an attempt to take their place in the world. Some turned to Dark Elemenstation to achieve that end, and as a result, the races of Battal are under constant threat from surreptitious seating. One of the greatest dangers in this respect-- second only to the insidous Armchair Mindsmiths-- is the Raging Recliner. While its enslaving cousin uses guile to achieve its goals, the Raging Recliner simply bashes whatever crosses it with a normally inviting footrest deployed from the lower part of its body. This is their only confirmed power, but many witnesses claim that the recliner can be heard snickering after delivering such a blow.

Sepathok, famed owner of the 100 Swords of Sepathok, observed an attack from one before dispatching it with a powerful slash from sword #86, K'x'k'xiqlt The Difficult to Pronounce. He wrote (or rather, dictated) in his journal, "While at first appearing to be an incredibly silly assailant, I soon found that the manner in which the recliner leaned back in concert with its strike proved to impart a surprisingly devastating amount of force, a hypothesis that was confirmed upon discovering the recliner's unfortunate victim to be a lifeless heap one half ploisnu away from the site of the initial assault." The journal entry then ends, as the scribe who was transcribing the entry reportedly said, "hello-oo! Run on sentence, much!" and suffered his own powerful slash from K'x'k'xiqlt.
