Shieldalnd

The Shieldalnd was the offical currency of The Shield after The Unsundering up until the arrival of The Wizbits, and replaced the Kallun as the major currency on The Shield. Shaped like the continent itself, the coins varied in value based on what they were coated with, the cheapest being made totally of Iyorn and the most valuable being made of Iyorn as well, but coated in gold. Any contry that considered itself powerful would stamp their Shieldalnds with a small symbol or name. Another thing to note of the Shieldalnd are the holes punched in the bottom. These were originally made by coniving crooks who wanted to steal the gold from that part of the currancy. Later the holes were written off as a convienient way to carry the money ie. on a string. It was very similar to the Sickloca, even though the values of the two were generally thought to be different, mostly due to the currency exchange businesses that were created during the time the two were in use.
