Star Dragon's Heart

An enormous orb (approximately one quarter of two clospecscions in diameter), primarily cream in coloring but tending to reflect rainbow hues. While similar in appearance to Jessicstan or Rystran and often compared to the Moon-Pearls of Ovulum and Ironstride Snail shells, the composition of the Star Dragon's Heart is decidedly otherworldly.

Origin

According to most accounts, the Star Dragon's Heart was in fact created specifically for the purpose of Transchanting Zonardia.

Some claim that the Zonardian mystics fused together 7 gigantic chunks of rubian along with 50 Quasar hearts to create the Star Dragon's Heart. However, worshippers of Impera the Star Dragon insist that Impera sacrificed her life to remove her heart and bless Zonardia with its magic, lifting it out of the way of the Giant Meteoric Cow's path. (They suggest that she was also reborn as the heavens themselves.) This theory is lent additional credence by the fact that Quasars are not truly Dragons, and thus using their hearts to create a mystic artifact would not create a Star Dragon's Heart, but a Star Quasar's Heart.

Either way, this powerful gemstone originated during era of The Hierarchy.

Known Powers

The Star Dragon's Heart radiates Stream energy. Bringing damaged items into the presence of the Star Dragon's Heart tends to fix them "better than new." Even naturally occuring inanimate objects (such as rocks, ice, et cetera) take on a cleaner, shinier, more lively appearance when bathed in the glow of the Star Dragon's Heart.

It is also possible, through Elemenstation, to unleash and direct immense Stream energy from within the gem. The most famous use of the Star Dragon's Heart, of course, occured during The Hierarchy era, when King Zonard's anachronist descendants Transchanted an entire contintent, converting it into an enormous Ambulatory Landmass. This event, known as the Presundering, took place in an attempt to save Zonardia from a Giant Meteoric Cow.

King Zonard believed that the Star Dragon's Heart could aid in the fight against Yar the Sorcerial, but it is not known how he intended to employ its powers to this end. It has been hypothesized that long-term exposure to the Star Dragon's Heart might result in spontaneous Transchanting of various objects, but no canonical examples of this phenomenon have (yet) been given.
