Sw'ftfl'wootswap
Every seventh year, the Sw'ftfl'woots gather for the Sw'ftfl'wootswap, a festive but somewhat melancholy meeting where stories, ores, and precious gems are exchanged per a complicated arrangement between the disparate Sw'ftfl'woots clans. When a clan wishes to marry one of their members into another clan, it is customary for the clan gaining a member to repay the clan losing a member with ore or a precious gem. This is both a symbolic gesture and a practical one. Without the added weight of the ore or the gem, the Sw'ftfl'woots clan that loses a member would be unable to control their boat, as it would not have enough weight to hold its own on the Sw'ftfl'w River.
