Only four types of beings may enter the Temple of Death, which is its own plane of existence just beyond the Eclipse Luma, Deities, Eslovat, CENRAs and the souls of the departed dead.
The structure is sort of a clearing house for departed souls. Regardless of religious affiliation, all souls travel first to the Temple of Death, and then are remanded to their deity (in monotheistic religions) or the deity of their pantheon responsible for the dead, or in the case of aetheists, the souls are dispelled.
The only residents of the temple are the Eslovat, beings created from the souls of the dead who manage the affairs of the temple. Although those captured by the Soul Hunters are often forced to wait for long periods sunspended on the Tree of Souls awaiting judgement.
Architecture
The Temple is a gigantic structure of pure white marble sits on an obsidian spire which extends downward to infinity. In front of the temple are a number of floating platforms that apear to be made entirely of glass that ferry beings in and out of the plane.
All of the dead are sent to temple courtyard which from within resembles a large park. The dead are then sorted acoding to relgion. Those that are Vuksveufen are sent to the hall of judgement. Those few who are having near death experiences have them deeper in the courtyard and are then sent back by the ferry platforms to whence they came. The courtyard is flanked on the right by the Hall of Judgement and on the left by the Closter of the Hunters, at the very back of the courtyard are the Gates of the Keepers.
In the very center of the courtyard stands the Tree of Souls. The tree towers over the coutyard and it's branchs stretch on each side to the Hall of Judgement, the Closter of Hunters and the Gates of the Keepers. From the courtyard the tree apears as a gaingantic and overly regularly shaped tree with white leaves. From within 5 clospecscions the tree apears as an unending tangle of leafless branchs with souls hanging from the ends at random points.
